We went to Si Padan last year, 2009 around end of June . But, Si Padan already become restricted area, so we actually stay at Mabul island. It is an amazing place, hope you will take chance to visit there.

We wake up early and having the free breakfast. It was buffet style, not bad at all. Then, we decided to explore the area that we haven’t go. It was the museum area.

There was a shop opposite hostel that we have to keep on visiting. For free water. We found a water dispenser in the shop for free of charge.

We arrived at museum area without any difficulty. But too early as Museum opened at 10AM.

There are some unique building in that area. And can imagine that is a tourist zone. But all shops opened at 10AM. We went into a church next to the museum by following a sister.
We have spent some time in this church. Coz it is really beautiful. The church also reminded me a promise. Last time when i was studying in UK, a best fren of mine ask me to take some church photo to him. He is christian. Hope u are following my blog now, Tong Yan.

After that, we went back to hostel for checking out and heading to train station for our lunch while waiting a coach back to Airport.
We have plenty of time as flying to Prague at 8PM. So, we took a lot of time to explore this station. For food and soveniers.
All food looks yummy, right? After looking around, we found a market in the train station.

We went inside, get a seat and start to order our “starter” .

I just can’t resist to bite the custard before my wife able to take a shot on it.

Look at the strawberry inside the cake. We did count. There were six strawberries in a cutlet of cake. My God!
We felt full, even there were just 2 pieces of cake. We sit there till 2PM and decided to get on the bus around 330PM.
Before we left, luckily i ordered some meal again. That was the best meat that we had in Frankfurt.

I really fancy of escalope. This breaded escalope is great but not for the salads and potatoes. Too sour.

This is the one! In my life, i have roasted pork for so many times, but not this one. Hard to describe our taste through words to u guys. I really would go to Frankfurt again to taste it. I miss u.

Frankfurt is a big city in Germany, but nothing so special. We visited there is because of transit to Prague. So sorry to say that.
What make us suprise in Fankfurt was a lots of beggars! There are all around. Some of them dress nice and young, seems like not willing to get a job.
But Germany people are strong principle person in their culture, i think. We have seen a few times local people refuse to give anything to beggars and they do advise people not to give them anything. We also saw a white color refused to give a beggar remaining food and started a quarrel.
Frankfurt buildings are mostly new as it was attacked severely in World War II. most of its buildings are damaged in that time. So, we managed to get some photo of its buildings which are modern designed.

The day when we arrived, the temperature was in single digit range. It is really surprise as spring was yet to come in Frankfurt.

We started to walked around the city without map. We found a river. Frankfurt city center seems like bounded by this river, just as many European City.

I think for local people, it is consider a nice weather to hang out. There are plenty of people walking around along to river and park.

We have spent a full day to walk around in Frankfurt city. Finally, we are getting tired and rest at the riverside while looking at the beautiful scene. Quite an enjoyable time. Dunno how long we sit there, just till we started to feel freezing. We were thinking about to have food, although it was just around 430PM. We took out the prepared map and asking direction from a couple who sit on the chair next to us. The man showed us the direction, but he recommend another better restaurant in the same street.
We went and decided to follow his advice. And great outcome!

From outside, it doesn’t seem like a great restaurant. luckily we didn’t judge it from outside. When we got in,we have been surprised by many customers holding a beer in hand. It just around 5PM, and it is about fully occupied!

We have ordered some meal. The waiter is friendly even they can’t speak english. Without any consideration, i ordered platter. i would like to try this since long ago. Germany is really a heaven place for those meat-eater.

local people like the green sauce very much. I believed it is made of apple. The beer also taste like apple juice. Personally, i like the beer more than the green sauce.
Forgot to update u guy, this was our third time to have sausage in a day. We already have sausage in lunch time, where we have at the daily market. 2 sausages, escalopes (turkey breast) with fried potatoes in day time cost us Euro 6.50. Not bad ah?
Of coz, with this giant size dinner, we unable to finish it. And we decided to take a walk, back to hostel as we were too full.

The meal cost us Euro 31. it was about Euro 38, includes day meal. Our budget was Euro 50 per day. 1st day was not bad at all to keep it within budget range.
On the way back to hostel, my wife was not happy about it, as she complained it was too far and freezing. After this tiring walk, she fall into sleep at 7PM. luckily, i was having Champions League that night till 10PM. Ya, our room has TV with satelite channels. Great to see Manchester United had a goal in Munich.

In 2009 June, we were spending our holidays at Sabah, Si padan. When we were sitting in the jetty waiting for a boat transfer, something has caught our eye in the newspaper. Airasia was doing some crazy sales for its London tickets. Single way to London per person is RM500! (wat can do, economy crisis that time). We started to have a europe tour in mind. As a truly spender, i made the decision. The laptop was with us that time, and we were doing Wifi online on Mabul Island, making the online booking on the spot.
2 person KL-London return tickets for <RM3K, includes meals, tax, extra luggage, spacious seats. Not bad, erm?
But, after booking the tickets, we still not sure going or not. coz i am poor, has no cash in hand (i am a typical type of spender). haha…
It just like my style, since i have this goal, i want to make it happens. We set a budget for this trip, it has to fall between RM15-16K, include flight tickets. i only started my search in Feb. planning the trip and buying Ryan air tickets. Of coz, i also booked some entrance tickets and hotels/hostels.
We have selected our destination. KL-London-Frankfurt-Prague-Milan-Venice-Florence-Clinque Terre-Milan (Bergamo)-Eindhoven-Amsterdam-Eindhoven-London-KL. 16 days journey, and a very packed journey.
KL to London flights take 14hours. On 30 March midnight, we arrived at Stansted Airport. As we have limited budget, we decided not to stay in hotel and just sleep in the airport to wait for our transfer to Frankfurt at 730AM.
Of coz , first thing we did after arrival is eating.

There is a nice Italian restaurant in Stansted Airport. Before we were boarding, we ordered a special breakfast with sausage there again. I like British sausage very much, especially with a lots of garlic.
For the few hours, we sleep. just on the chair of that open restaurant. And it was amazing that so many people sleep there.

730AM, we get on Ryan Air and arrived at Frankfurt Hahn Aiport 930AM. The flight time is an hour, but Germany time is an hour earlier than UK time. complicated calculation in time, right? luckily, my phone can do auto update and avoid the time setting problem. As we prebooked the flight tickets, it only cost us GBP 35 for 2 persons to Frankfurt.Ryan Air is really the best low cost flight in the world.

Then, we get on bus to go to city centre, Frankfurt Am Main. it took an hour. We sleep again and it is good for us to avoid jet-lag problem.

I have seen this railway station in National geography before. And never think about a chance to visit it. It was rebuilded couple years ago. its roof is very special as needed large numbers of big glasses pieces. nice building.
We booked a double room with private bathroom in a hostel – Frankfurt hostel. It is just located opposite to railway station, a very convinient location. Euro 49 per night with breakfast included.

And we soon discovered where to have lunch. The road is closing every Tuesday to have a day market here. So lucky for us, it was Tuesday.

我实在对于大马企业有着很沉重的担忧。泰国的竞争力比大马强太多了。
尤其是旅游服务业，泰国实在抛离大马太远了。
先谈机场的管理。
Ｋｏｈ Ｓａｍｕｉ 只是一个类似Ｒｅｄａｎｇ 或 Ｐａｎｇｋｏｒ的小岛。它的机场很小，却是非常优雅。除了有花园机场的感觉，还有一流的设施。例如免费食物，果汁，水果，免费电脑上网，ＷｉＦＩ，甚至厕所里面还有一个非常漂亮的鱼缸！
在机场等候班机，是一个享受。

当你回到Ｐｅｎａｎｇ 机场时，就知道我们实在落后多远了。
如果大家还没有浏览过大马机场的网页，请去看看。实在有够烂。
而且，大马机场还是上市公司。大家可以不必买这只烂股了。
在Koh Samui ，终于见证了7-11 在泰国的市场。它就好像以前的杂货店，可以相隔几百公尺，就有一间。而且里面的店铺面积，比大马的还大。看来它的Francising Fees 非常低，很容易回本。应该也得益于泰国的廉价劳工成本和低廉的租金。
观察7-11 的经营模式，是因为Granflo 有接近40% 的营业额，来自于提供物流服务给泰国的所有7-11（ 由Simat 提供）。看来之前管理层认为2008年，泰国的7-11 会增加1000间，属于合理的估计。
不过，我正在改变自己的投资策略和原则。所以，我还是决定放弃持有Granflo。
它的管理层始终让我放心不下（感觉不好）。
今天我卖出了15000股的Granflo。
关于飞机。
我是使用Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ的廉价航空飞机。所以，我不会评论亚航，只在这里讨论Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ。
如果有人认为Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ会在马航英明的ＣＥＯ领导下，威胁亚航。
那么，你应该亲身体验Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ。
我出发的前一晚，１０３０ＰＭ才收到ＳＭＳ，飞往槟城的９ＡＭ班机会延迟到４ＰＭ。
由于我要在２ＰＭ，Ｐｅｎａｎｇ转机到Ｋｏｈ ＳＡｍｕｉ，所以尝试联络他们，看如何解决这件事情。结果是Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ的营业时间是到９３０ＰＭ而已，即使特发事件，也是不会有人特别处理。
幸好第二天我们才知道Ｋｏｈ Ｓａｍｕｉ的班机改为４３０ＰＭ。
也许大家会认为突发事件。未必影响Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ的形象。
让我来分享旅游代理如何评价Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ。
由于一时没有想到会获得如此宝贵的资讯，我们没有把这段访谈录下来。
实在可惜。
由于有了出发前的经验，在回程之前的一天，我们就尝试联络Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ在Ｋｏｈ Ｓａｍｕｉ的分公司，尝试确认我们的航机是否准时。我们找到一家 Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ的代理。不过他的服务态度很差。他告诉我们，本地只有Ｃｈａｗｅｎｇ有Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ的代理，不过他把联络号码弄丢了。
我们只好到另外一家相熟的旅游代理询问。她找到了Ｃｈａｗｅｎｇ的号码，拨通后，竟然是一个人呼喝“Ｎｏ Ｍｏｒｅ Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ＂，还＃＊＃ＸＸ！
没有错，他骂粗口！
后来，我们只好打国际电话到Ｓｕｂａｎｇ确认。
那个旅游代理才谈起Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ的事情。Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ在Ｋｏｈ Ｓａｍｕｉ的航班时常在最后一分钟取消，而且拒绝承担顾客的住宿或赔偿顾客。有个叫 Ｊａｓｏｎ的代理，就是经营了Ｆｉｒｅｆｌｙ的 Ｔｉｃｋｅｔｉｎｇ ＡＧｅｎｔ，才声名扫地。那个骂粗口的，应该就是Ｊａｓｏｎ。
继续坚持马航的ＦＩｒｅｆｌｙ有前景的朋友，自己小心了。
接下来，就是关于ＩＴ和Ｂｒｏａｄｂａｎｄ。

６Ｍｂｂｓ 的速度，你在使用Ｙｏｕｔｕｂｅ，根本不需等待。
不止ＫｏｈＳａｍｕｉ 有健全的宽频覆盖和无线上网，连偏远的一个小岛，Ｋｏｈ Ｔａｏ，也有Ｗｉｒｅｌｅｓｓ上网。
如果我们把Ｌａｐｔｏｐ带去，应该很享受这种超高速度的上网。
原来Ｇｐａｃｋｅｔ的骄傲，也是骗局来的。不知道多少游客和泰国人，要嘲笑大马在宽频的落后。
有兴趣投资任何关于Ｂｒｏａｄｂａｎｄ业务的朋友，建议你体会一下泰国的ＩｎｔｅｒｎｅｔＳｅｒｖｉｃｅ。我看，你马上明白什么叫做没有竞争力。
以上的２家垄断Ｂｒａｏｄｂａｎｄ服务的公司，我们实在给了它们很多不平等的暴利。
大马的ＩＴ 行业由于基础不完善，也许不用多久，就会被泰国取代了。难怪Ｇｒａｎｆｌｏ的董事会说，在泰国和越南做 ＩＴ ，会更有优势。
这个岛上的游客，大部分的游客是来自于欧美。由于有卖酒和猪肉，而且９０％居民是佛教徒，我相信很少大马回教徒回选择这个岛作为旅游目的地。
所以，岛上的经济就依赖欧美游客，而不是亚洲人。
现在这段时间，已经是Ｐｅａｋ Ｓｅａｓｏｎ了。
可是却没有很多游客。我到处询问，许多旅馆和代理都说今年的游客数量大减。
有点出乎意料。他们的看法是泰国的政治动荡影响了游客的数量。
也许他们是对的。另外一个原因，也许美国的经济实在衰退的很严重。
欧洲的情况也许还很好。我们遇到德国人，西班牙人，意大利人。
可是没有什么见到美国人。
由于我们离开美国太远了，没有办法想象美国经济体的实际情况。
可是看来要多做坏的打算，才可以有更大的安全空间。
昨晚回来，和一个销售经理坐同一辆计程车。
听他分享了许多关于中国市场的看法。
中国的沿海城市，房地产面临了严重的萧条。股市暴跌，更加重了这些情况。
看来中国的金融市场也在承受严重的呆账压力。
